The
Graduate School of Business welcomes the application of all
qualified candidates. Admission to the full-time MBA program and
the part-time Managerial MBA program is competitive and limited
to insure the quality of the program. Major factors considered
in the admission decision include professional work experience,
undergraduate academic record, performance on the Graduate
Management Admissions Test (GMAT), letters of recommendation,
and the applicant’s maturity and motivation as demonstrated in
two essays. Applicants with two or more years of professional
work experience will be given preference for admission into the
full-time program.
Although
no specific minimum score requirements have been established for
admission, successful applicants are expected to rank in the
80th percentile (approx. 620) on the Graduate Management
Admission Test (GMAT) and possess a cumulative undergraduate
grade point average of 3.4. Applicants whose native language is
not English must present satisfactory scores on the Test of
English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL, our institution code is
6866) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS).
The University
defines a satisfactory score on TOEFL as 550 (paper-based), 213
(computer-based), 80 (internet-based), or 6.5 on the IELTS. The
test must have been taken within two years immediately preceding
the requested semester of admission and be valid at the time of
enrollment. Ph.D. applicants must also submit the speaking
portion of either the internet-based TOEFL (with a minimum score
of 26) or the IELTS (with a minimum score of 7). No other
measures of English proficiency are accepted by the University
of Arkansas for the purpose of gaining admission. For more
information please visit
the
English Proficiency website.
