Application Form

Individuals wishing to apply for a Master's program should complete either the online application for admission or the paper application for admission.  Additionally, individuals should consult the Application Instructions to determine what other items need to be submitted in conjunction with their application to the Graduate School of Business.  All of the above information is also contained on the Download Forms page.

Official Transcripts

Official transcripts from each college or university you attended, undergraduate and graduate, are required. Course work completed at one institution and posted on the transcript of a second institution is not acceptable. A transcript from the original institution is required (this includes summer course work, exchange programs, etc.). Transcripts must be received in sealed envelopes.

Essays

You must provide thoughtful responses to the following essay questions.  Please limit your responses to one or two pages each, double spaced.

  • What are your short-term and long-term career goals?  How will the master's degree program you wish to complete help you achieve your goals?
  • Please share with the admissions committee any unique events, life experiences, and qualifications that you feel distinguish your candidacy and will add value to your class.

Letters of Recommendation

Three letters of recommendation are required in support of your application. One should come from an individual who is familiar with your scholastic record and one should come from an individual who is familiar with your professional performance. The third letter can be from either a second academic or professional reference or from someone who knows you well and is familiar with your potential as a graduate student. You should send each recommender a recommendation form. A letter on letterhead will also be accepted. The recommender must place the form or letter in a sealed envelope, sign his/her name across the seal, and return the letter to you. The letter can also be sent directly to the GSB. TOEFL

Official scores should be sent directly from the testing service.  Our institution code is 6866.  Applicants should have have a minimum score of 213 (computer-based), 550 (paper-based), or 79 (internet-based).

Application Fee

A $40.00 fee for domestic applicants and $50.00 fee for international applicants must accompany application materials. The fee must be made payable to the University of Arkansas in U.S. dollars, drawn on a U.S. bank. The application fee is non-refundable and no application will be processed without the fee. Resume

A copy of a current resume is required. Be certain that your resume indicates your full-time and part-time employment history, extracurricular collegiate, professional, and community activities, honors and awards, and foreign language proficiency.

Official GMAT Score Report

We require that the test administrator submit your score directly to the University of Arkansas. The appropriate test must be taken within five years of the semester in which you wish to enroll. Your application will not be processed until we have received your official GMAT or GRE score.

Ph.D. programs

 

Applicants for all Ph.D. programs should submit:

 

International Applicants

  • Summary of Educational Experience Form
  • Supplemental and Financial Information Form
  • All international applicants must take either the internet-based TOEFL or the IELTS and must complete the spoken English section on at least one of the tests. On the internet-based TOEFL, a minimum of 79 is required of students who do not have a degree from an American institution and on the IELTS, a minimum of 6.5 is required of all applicants without a degree from an American institution. ALL international applicants must score a minimum of 26 on the spoken section of the internet-based TOEFL or a minimum of 7.0 on the speaking portion of the IELTS.

The registrar must seal the envelope, sign his/her name across the seal, and return the transcripts to you or mail them directly to us.

Three (3) letters of recommendation are required in support of your application. Select individuals who are familiar with your capacity for graduate-level work. Individuals should utilize the Letter of Recommendaton form, but a letter on letterhead will also be accepted. The document should be enclosed in a sealed envelope with the recommender’s signature across the seal. Letters may be returned to you and sent with the other application materials or directly to the Graduate School of Business.

Personal Statement of Objectives

Include ways in which you have been influenced by past academic and work experiences, personal strengths and weaknesses, career goals, research interests, and benefits you anticipate from this program. Length should be kept to one-to-two pages.

Official GMAT Score Report

The GMAT is required of applicants to the Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Management, and Marketing programs. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE), rather than the GMAT, is required of applicants to the Ph.D. in Economics degree program. Management will also accept GRE scores. We require that the test administrator submit your score directly to the University of Arkansas. The appropriate test must be taken within five years of the semester in which you wish to enroll. Your application will not be processed until we have received your official GMAT or GRE score.
