Master's Programs

International applicants to Walton College master’s degree programs are required to take either the TOEFL or the IELTS. Satisfactory completion of this requirement is met if one of the following is achieved:

• Paper-based TOEFL – minimum of 550
• Computer-based TOEFL – minimum of 213
• Internet-based TOEFL – minimum of 79.
• IELTS – minimum of 6.5

This requirement can be waived if a bachelor’s or master’s degree was completed at an American (or other English speaking country – UK, Canada, etc.) institution.

Ph.D. Programs

International applicants to Walton Ph.D. programs must submit either the internet-based TOEFL or the IELTS. This requirement cannot be waived! All applicants must show English proficiency by either scoring a minimum of 26 on the speaking section of the internet-based TOEFL or a minimum of 7.0 on the speaking section of the IELTS. If you do not have a degree from an American (or other English speaking country – UK, Canada, etc.) institution, you must also have a composite score of at least a 79 on the internet-based TOEFL or a 6.5 on the IELTS.
