A Great Time to Grow
In the current economic climate, you need to expand your knowledge and skill set to remain competitive. Management and leadership positions in Information Technology (IT) are increasingly being filled by candidates with graduate degrees. The Walton Professional MIS exposes students to many different aspects of IT, providing a well-rounded perspective with enough depth to be proficient in several disciplines. The Walton Professional MIS is also a great way to network and develop relationships with other professionals in the IT field.
Developing Knowledge & Skills
Our Professional MIS curriculum is focused on delivering practical knowledge through hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies in use today in the world’s largest organizations. Our students learn concepts and techniques in areas such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Business Intelligence, E-Business, and Enterprise Systems, and apply their knowledge to solve business problems using tools from IBM, SAP, Microsoft, Teradata, and SAS.
Practical Application / Business Focus
The primary goal of an IT organization is to leverage technology to help solve business problems. While in the program, Walton Professional MIS students are able to quickly integrate new concepts and skills to solve problems in the workplace. Moreover, our students come out of the program equipped with a understanding of where IT “fits” in the context of a business, and how IT can be effectively leveraged to support the strategic and tactical objectives of an organization.
Designed for Working Professionals
The Walton Professional MIS is designed for working professionals. Once IS proficiency is demonstrated (ISYS 511V or equivalent), the program can be completed by taking six hours a semester for five semesters (21 months). Courses are taught through a blended-delivery format with both face-to-face and online components, so students are in class only one Saturday per month. We work hard to simplify the logistics of returning to school, so that you can focus on learning. Additionally, many employers offer tuition reimbursement programs, so check with your HR department to see if this great benefit is available.
